Join UIPO
UIPO members engage with each other through an email list, annual meetings, and occasional virtual events. UIPO welcomes applications from prospective members who meet the criteria for membership. Members must:
- Work at or substantially on behalf of academic institutions or research libraries.
- Be directly responsible for copyright information policy and education (practitioners, not solely scholars).
- Demonstrate commitment to the interests of libraries and the public on matters of copyright.
UIPO members follow three sets of rules:

- Confidentiality and Information Sharing
- Code of Conduct
To apply to join UIPO, please complete our application form. Applicants will receive an automated acknowledgment within 10 days of submission. The UIPO Membership Committee will confirm that the applicant meets the Membership Criteria and will be in touch if any questions arise. Within 30 days of submission, the Membership Committee will notify applicants of a decision. During the annual transition to a new committee in late October and early November, response times may be longer than usual.
Dues
UIPO Membership is $85 a year.
As noted on our Rules page, UIPO members who have concluded their careers are invited to remain in UIPO as an Emeritus Member. Emeritus dues are discounted to $50 annually.
